Shamanic Homeoepathy

Course Ethos
The course is designed and taught to allow your unique consciousness relationship to the many remedies to develop. There is no One school of homeopathy or healing. Each student should seek to develop his/her own philosophy of homoeopathy and vibrational healing, within the framework that is taught. This course is very much about personal self-development as well as knowledge pertaining to homoeopathy and medicine.
Intake
A fresh intake for the course starts each September, with 10 weekend attendance sessions. The course lasts 4 years. There is a break in August and over Christmas.
Cost
The course cost (2009-2010 rates) is £1200 per year. Payment may be made as installments (e.g. monthly). VAT payment does not apply. No deposit is required. Extra charges apply for any remedies purchased and textbooks (which usually amount to an extra £200 in the early years).
Teaching
Most of the teaching is seminar lecture based in the weekends. There are occasional ‘field trips’, such as further exploration of plant flora at Kew Gardens, museums, exhibitions, sacred sites or archaeological places of interest. There is ample opportunity for experiencing the provings of new homoeopathic remedies. A computerised repertory system is available for students’ use on the premises.
Comprehensive course notes are provided.  Some extra charges apply for materials packs and any audio material. The teaching is clear and without waffle, and includes small group and meditation sessions to develop intuitive as well as the intellectual skills. Much of the course emphasizes personal and spiritual development with learning of specific healing and meditation techniques. There is ample slide show projection and visual material, including clinical cases studies. Anatomical plastic models and anatomy computer software is used.

Entrance requirements
The application form provides entry boxes for prospective applicants educational background and work experience. Students without much academic background have coped with the material very well. It is not necessary to have prior experience in complementary therapies. New students without a qualification in biology will be guided through the anatomy and physiology. I trust everyone will be guided by their Spirit as regards whether to join the course.

Assessment
This is though a range of self-reflection, continuous assessment with homework & assignments and exam sessions. There are 5 case studies to provide by the end of the 4th year. Students opt to also undertake an original thesis of a research topic of their interest. The key ingredient throughout is the self-reflective appraisal by the student - fostering future self-reflective practice.

Registration as Homoeopathic Practitioner
Upon meeting the course assessments, graduates are able to register with nominated regulatory bodies for homoeopathic practitioners (presently Alliance of Registered Homeopaths ARH, Homeopathic Medical Association HMA, and Association of Natural Medicine ANM). The course requirements for graduation include submission of 5 case studies, a portfolio of clinical training & assessments.

Portfolio
Students are encouraged to maintain a learning journal throughout the course, to record a wide variety of experiences. These include provings conducted, remedies made and taken, clinics and patients witnessed, research topics, meditation and healing insights, test results and so on. This provides a valuable continual self-reflective assessment.
